OUR SERVICES

Retail Design

At the forefront of 3 Dots Design is the commitment to creating strategic retail designs…stores that not only look fantastic, but function equally as well. Our team of “Retail Scientists” uses a combination of floor planning, traffic flow, color palettes, product placement, lighting, signage and messaging to mix the precise formula to ensure retail success. Part science and part creativity, blended with a dose of fun and excitement, the 3 Dots Design team translates your ideas and vision into your retail environment enticing consumers to shop longer and purchase more.

Visual Merchandising

Taking your products and displaying them in ways that tell brand stories and create emotional attachment is just the beginning of our visual merchandising process. For 3 Dots Design, visual merchandising starts at the floor plan layout and doesn’t end until your customers purchase the product.  With an expertise in color, lighting, design and the science of shopping, the 3 Dots Design team can merchandise any product in any environment and create inspiring displays that sell more product.  Simply put, good merchandising sells more product…!

Training

Having a great looking and well merchandised store is critical in today’s competitive environment…but keeping it that way can be an even bigger challenge.  That’s why 3 Dots Design offers merchandising training customizable for your store, staff and/or products. With visual aids and hands-on sessions, this unique approach helps to motivate staff and build team work. Whether it be a in-store clinic, writing a merchandising manual or presenting at your national sales meeting, the 3 Dots Design team can create a training program that meets your needs and budget.

Fixture Design

Presenting your product at retail can often be quite confusing. How should it be displayed? What type of fixture should hold it? How can the product integrate with the fixture? All of these are important questions and are ones that 3 Dots Design is used to hearing. Often the answer is to create a custom fixture that not only displays your product in the best possible light, but also builds your brand at retail. Color, materials, sizing, and product integration are just part of the 3 Dots Design fixture design process. With manufacturing partners both onshore and offshore, 3 Dots Design has a solution for your product display needs.   3DotsFixtures.com

Retail Program Development

Designing great in-store experiences is just the beginning for 3 Dots Design. We also work with many of our clients to create corresponding retail programs with sales goals, marketing collateral, and ROI milestones. Measuring the effectiveness of your in-retail investment is critical. And the best way to accelerate your success is by integrating measurement tools from the program beginning.

  • Holly has over 15 years experience in the field of visual merchandising and retail design. Her vast skills are spread across numerous industries including cycling, running, active apparel, and specialty retail. Before starting 3 Dots Design, Holly consulted in the bicycle industry where she most recently oversaw all aspects of retail design and visual merchandising for Giant Bicycle. She was responsible for developing their fixture program, creating a merchandising manual, and building the creative guidelines for their global retail program. Additionally, Holly worked directly on the design and build out of 18 retail stores, being recognized with the “Best New Retail Concept” award for her flagship store design.

Prior to her work with Giant Bicycle, Holly designed and merchandised for such brands as Pearl Izumi, Fleet Feet Sports, Moving Comfort, Hind Sportswear, as well as a number of specialty retailers. Holly lectures on merchandising and has been a key-note speaker at a number of sportswear industry events. She also leads merchandising seminars and trains retail staff on visual merchandising techniques.

In her spare time, Holly can be found riding her bike across the country, preparing for the World Guacamole Championships or perhaps just relaxing while designing something new for her glass jewelry business…!

Andy.jpg
  • Andy has over 15 years of retail and merchandising experience. Prior to joining 3 Dots Design, Andy was an integral part of Giant Bicycle’s retail development team. He was responsible for numerous store renovations, as well as multiple “from the ground up” designs. His comprehensive mix of retail and sales background bring another layer of excellence to the 3 Dots Design team.

Previous to this role at Giant, Andy worked with hundreds of independent retailers across the nation. He held positions in both inside sales and outside account management where he earned a number of sales awards including the coveted “Rookie of the Year” honor. Andy cut his retail teeth at one of the cycling industries retail icons, Wheel & Sprocket. There, Andy learned award winning retail best practices in merchandising, customer service, and product management.

When he’s not improving a retailer’s store, you’re likely not to find Andy, as he will be in some remote corner of the US exploring new trails on his mountain bike with the world’s most fit dog, Ringo…!

  • Adam has worked closely with 3 Dots Design for 6 years, creating bold content for environmental graphics and oversized signs, way-finding signs, product design, packaging, fixture design, retail space, design and marketing collateral.

Prior to striking out on his own as a one man show, Adam racked up over 10 years of retail experience in running stores (Fleet Feet, Boulder Running Company, Active Imprints, and Newton Running), where he was responsible for such varied tasks as visual merchandising, order management, hand-fabricating custom orthotic insoles, and creating marketing plans and materials.

This affinity for running stores has roots in his previous life as a 3-time NCAA D1 All-American track and field athlete, which lead to a four year professional distance running career where he placed as high as 5th in USATF finals.  In his spare time, he indulges his passions as an artist (and applies his degree in Fine Art) creating colorful abstract & figurative paintings in his Boston studio.

  • Ryan has worked at 3 Dots Design for 3 years, designing and selling fixtures, working on store and website design and helping out with any other area that needs an extra hand.

Before moving to Boulder, Ryan gained retail experience at the specialty run store Playmakers, in MI.  Upon settling in Boulder, he worked on the R & D team at HIND and then moved on to help design and build a glass jewelry line for five years.

Outside the office you'll find Ryan mountain biking or hiking a beautiful trail or in his studio working on a painting or illustration.
